Dear Friends & Family,

7:30 PM : Just three and a half hours ago, Ron & I with the aid of some area residents found the remains of dad's plane at a crash site about a half mile north of the Fraser River just east of the Stave River/Silvermere Lake approx. one mile. Our guides were horse back riding down a little traveled trail on Sunday and noticed the wreckage. They received our brochure just this morning by unaddressed mail that we had sent out (14,175 pieces) and realized the colours and the wreckage were what we were looking for.

We can say from reviewing the crash site that dad went instantaneously and felt no pain. The crash took out 8 inch maple branches and pushed them through the top of the tree about 30 yards to the ground where the plane quickly burned up in a heap. Only the yellow wingtips and some blue fabric could be noticed by anyone on the trail. It is likely that the plane had exploded upon impact with the tree. RCMP were called in and have secured the area. They will complete a search for dad's remains and remove the plane wreckage which will probably undergo some sort of analysis by the Transport Safety Board.

Our family will organize a memorial soon after dad's remains are released to us. We wish to thank all those individuals who have felt sympathy for our loss and a million thanks to the many who have given their generous assistance to our family throughout our ongoing search.
